Natural Mosquito Spray With Citronella Essential Oil

We spend half the year in Mexico and there are mosquitoes here that love me!

I purchased some essential oils here in Mexico and made my own natural mosquito bug spray! It works great!!!!

The oils were hard to find in Mexico but I found them at small health food stores.

What you will need:
A small spray bottle preferably dark colored to keep the solution away from bright sunlight which keeps it from getting rancid. I recommend a glass bottle. I could only find plastic for this post.

Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons Boiled Water
2 Tablespoons Vodka (or 100% alcohol)
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil (or any natural oil that is liquid such as vit. E oil)
30 drops of Citronella Essential Oil
15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Here are the steps:

You make a small batch so it doesn't go bad. It's easy to make!

Next, shake all the ingredients, spray on and smell the nice aroma of citronella and lavender!

We use so much lavender and peppermint essential oil at work the smell of either gives me the gags. What other scents go well with citronella? Thanks

Eucalyptus. I use Eucalptus, lemongrass, peppermint for my bug spray. I also make candles with the same oils and it keeps the bugs and mosquitos away. It has a great smell as well

Depends on the size of the batch you make. I use the Eucalyptus as the main oil for mine and about 1 3rd of the other oils
