I found 3 wire baskets at a yard sale for $6 and had to have them! What to do with them? I went to my local salvage store to find some inspiration!

$6 baskets I picked up at a yard sale
Old wagon side I picked up at the salvage store for $20. I sanded and cleaned it and then cleaned again with bleach to make sure there weren't any creepy crawlies in it.

Next I added rough coat of black paint. I did not want to fully cover the board.

I really liked this look, but when I took it in the house to see how it would look it was just too dark for the room. So, what to do, what to do?

I added a white wash over it. I'd never done this before and wasn't sure how it would turn out. I did one part water to two parts paint, and added a little more until I got the consistency I wanted. I painted it on a little at a time and then immediately wiped off all of the excess.
Once it was dry I attached the baskets. I did not want them lining up exactly the same so I just eye balled what I liked.

Now to have fun filling it up with some greenery and pretties.
So my coworker was moving and gave me some flower arrangements she no longer wanted. I knew the red was the perfect pop of color and would match the rest of my interior. So I took the arrangements apart and put them together.
It's the first time I've messed around with fake flowers but I really like how it turned out!

Coming into Spring here in New Zealand, you've just given me some inspiration and an idea to decorate a corner of my outdoor bbq area without having to replace plants constantly,.... great work, thank you :-)
