If you enjoy coastal or candles – or both – you’ll love this super easy, super quick DIY Coastal Candle Holder.

It's part of a growing collection of coastal-themed projects I've put together, and it can be completed from start to finish in less than one hour!
You only need 5 items for this project (and a glue gun):
  • a glass candle holder (I found mine at the Dollar Tree)
  • play (or beach) sand
  • jute string
  • sea shells (if you don't have your own, Amazon has a gorgeous collection - affiliate link).
  • a pillar candle
Start by wrapping the just around the bottom of the holder, and attaching with hot glue. My jute was wired and that made it really easy, but unwired will work just as well.

I made 10 trips around the base of my holder. Wrap it as far as you like.
We're half-way done. I told you this was fast and easy! icon

Next, choose the shells you want to use and attach them with hot glue to the jute. I added 8 evenly-spaced shells to mine, but you can do this however you like.

Want more shells? Add them all over, allowing only bits of the jute to show through. You could also add 2 or 3 (or just one very large shell) to the front and center it for a more dramatic look.

Do what makes you happy and make it uniquely yours!
Finish up by pouring in some sand and dropping the candle on top. The sand is optional, of course, but I love the added beach vibe the sand lends.

And you are done!
