Assuming you are hanging like a curtain? Many curtain rods come with rings with clips on the end. If you want to be able to slide the quilt that would be the best option. If it is going to be stationary and you like a rustic look you could use old wooden pants hangers that clap closed. Then bend the wire hangwe to fit over nails or decorative knobs attached to wall, or just hang on curtain rod. You could also just fold it either straight or diagonally over a curtain rod as a valance

If you value your quilt, don't do it. The sun will fade it.

Not a quilter but recently received a beautiful quilt made by a dear friend. I remember some things I read online saying the proper way to store a quilt. Contrary to popular belief, folded in a "hope chest" is wrong because the wood dyes are taken in by the quilt and the fold itself causes fabric breakdown over time. I think they also mentioned hanging quilts would stretch the fabric and could potentially create tears or break the quilted stiching. They stated the best way to store a quilt was on a bed surface. I will try to find reference as it contained valuable info on care of quilts. I'm no quilter but I do appreciate the amt of time that goes into making one.

You could use a tension rod, or get a hanging quilt rack, most Amish or unfinished wood furniture stores have them.
