Wow! It's been a long time since I have posted on HomeTalk. Who knew you couldn't do a whole house renovation in under an hour like they do on TV!

But wouldn't it be wonderful if renovations went as quickly as they do in a hour long program?

For the past year, we have been renovating our 1980's home & I finally feel ready to start sharing our progress!

So first up is our master bathroom!
At first glance, there is nothing really wrong with our bathroom...
A little dated, but nice lighting.
But when I started cleaning the shower it changed colors. Also, you could only get in on one side because the pannel kept breaking. It was frustrating, to say the least.

So soon after we decided not to wait 3-6 months to renovate this room.

Good thing too!

Turns out the floor was rotted through under the toilet & we had to replace it all! Falling through the floor in the middle of the night would not have been fun!

To remodel our bathroom we did a combination of things.

First, my husband & I tore everything out of the bathroom.

Then we hired someone to replace the floors & adjust the plumbing.

Next, we hired a company to lay the tile on the floor & walls. After tackling the tile in the half bath & laundry room we opted not to do it in the master bathroom. Plus we were in the middle of ripping out tile & laying down fossilized bamboo floors throughout the rest of our house.

Then my husband & I carefully installed the glass shower panels, new toilet, vanity, lights, & mirrors.
We kept the location for the vanity in the same place, but we reconfigured the rest of the bathroom.
We switched the locations of the shower & the toilet.
You can see more pictures of this switch by clicking the link at the bottom of this post.
We spent a lot of time picking out each detail for this room & we couldn't be any happier with the result!
