Weatherproof Outdoor Pillows

These pillows are inexpensive, easy, can be adjusted to any size, great for decor and kid fun, and they are weather resistant! I'm going to show you how to make a size for a chair, but think of how kids would love a big yard sized one! That will be one of my next projects - all the fun they'll have.

You'll need the following items:

Vinyl Table Cloth (Dollar Tree)

Recycled Plastic Shopping Bags (Free!)

Hot Glue or Sew (Hot glue gun - craft store, hot glue - Dollar Tree, optional sew)

Decide what shape and size pillow you want your pillow to be.

Cut your vinyl table cloth to your desired size. I didn't measure mine, just folded until I got the shape I wanted and cut it. So you don't have to do any measurements if you don't want to. I cut mine so I could fold it in 1/2 when closing it.

You could sew this, but if you are not a sewer you can use hot glue!

If you are making it like me, take your rectangle and fold it in 1/2, the fold will be on one side (for me it is the bottom). You will glue two of the remaining open sides together.

It should look like this and you should only have one side open.

Turn the pillow inside out. Now all the seams are inside where you want them to be.

Fill the inside with the recycled plastic shopping bags.

Make a fold in the last remaining opening, I pinned them into place to hold the seam together.

Hot glue the last opening closed, or if you'd rather have the flexibility to fluff the inside or change it you could use a self sticking Velcro strip.

Here is your completed pillow.

You can make these as big as you want for kids to lay on in the backyard as well.
