How to stop a mulberry tree from bearing fruit?

Our neighbors tree drops tons of mulberries
in our yard, on our deck and in our swimming pool every summer. They stink and draw flies, the tree itself is beautiful, but the mess is not

The only way to stop fruit from forming is to remove any blossoms...but doubt that you will be able to achieve any success with that!

stopping the tree from fruiting is not up to you. the tree is on the neighboring property. put a tarp down where the berries drop on your property and return them to the neighbor. or count it as a blessing and make mulberry wine

I know of no way to make it stop having fruit. Why not take advantage of it and pick the berries to eat or make mulberry wine? Or give to someone who makes wine and will give you a bottle as a thank you. Tasty!

I don't think you can do that without poisoning the tree , but are certainly within your rights to cut back or the overhang on your property .

You are allowed to cut off branches that go past the property line.

hoping that you're all good friends, you may have to have a discussion about whether or not to lop off the part of the tree that hangs over onto your property. I'd consult a tree specialist first though. If your neighbors won't go for that idea, perhaps all of you could brainstorm to find an equitable solution.

Besides cutting it down, the only way I can think of is to prune it once it starts to blossom, cutting the part off that would turn into fruit. I'm sure it would be a lot of work but if you want to keep the tree that's what I'd do.

Cut off all the branches that hang over into your yard.

Have you found a solution? I too have the same problem and the owner of the tree doesn't do anything about it. The roof of his garage has layers of cook berries on it and smells very bad. I have cut some of the branches but it's a very tall tree.
