Transforming your Kitchen or Bathroom is easy peasy with Dixie Belle Paint!

Decide whether you are removing your cabinet doors and if you plan on painting the back side of the cabinet door, and the inside frame.

When removing hardware, place all screws and hardware in plastic baggie for each door and set inside on a shelf.
Clean your cabinets with Dixie Belle White Lightning!
Lightly sand your cabinets to knock off its current glossy finish. Paint adheres better when you give them a little “tooth” or grip so the primer sticks to it.
Wipe your cabinet down to remove the dust from sanding.
Paint one simple coat of Dixie Belle’s BOSS primer for long lasting use over time. We call it our insurance and peace of mind policy.

Begin painting, keeping your brush damp - you can dip your brush lightly into water and remove the excess water with a paper towel. Ideally, two light coats is easier and looks better than a single thick coat.

Cling-on Brushes or Dixie Belle Brush bristles show less brush strokes or a dense foam roller may be used.
Elevate your cabinet doors using painter’s pyramids so you do not stick to the paper or your painting surface
We HIGHLY suggest GATOR HIDE it is the most durable water based polyacrylic that is also water repellent!
Gator Hide must be applied with 3 thin coats at a minimum of 2 hours apart to activate the water repellent agent.
Apply Gator Hide with one of our magical blue sponges for a smooth finish.
Even though your paint is dry it has not cured. All paints take a minimum of 21 – 30 days to cure, or reach maximum hardness, so handle with care. Touch ups may be necessary.

Attach clear bumper pads as they prevent the doors from making a noise when you shut them and they help save your paint finish so that the cabinet doors are not rubbing against the frame.
