I gave my tired looking outdoor patio a power wash and decorated it to give it a resort feel.
The dirty stained concrete needed a power wash.
I am also thinking of painting the concrete, but that may be a future project. icon
I hung linen grommet top drapes and used shower curtain tension rods to hang them up between each support . I used braided tiebacks to keep them in place.
The drapes are machine washable, so once summer is over they can be cleaned.
I purchased a cushioned seating set from Hampton Bay Spring Haven Collection. I liked the set so much that I ordered the rocking chair and it will be placed where the small round table is.
I added some outdoor pillows for contrast.
My outdoor dining set (already had). I tried to create two separate areas.

I have large pvc roller shades at each end of the patio.
I added ferns on plants stands to give the patio a lush feel. (doggie photo bomb)
With the curtains closed, it filters light, but doesn't block the scenery.
For night-time use, I hung white globe string lights along the ceiling as well as using lanterns on the tables.
Lighting at night adds a nice atmosphere. icon
The rocking chair finally arrived . So relaxing
Added a woven plastic rug from Five Below for $5. Can't beat the price.

Won't the material mildew? This would never work along the Gulf zcoast.

How did you attach the light strings to the house and roof? Do they swing a lot in the wind? How many sets did you use?

Out of curiosity, from door to yard, how deep is your patio? I'm wondering because I'm trying to get an idea of my dining table and its fit on my porch. My table is 41/2 ft by 3 ft. My porch is 25 ft. by 10 ft. if our dimensions are similar, I'm confident my table would work well on my porch. Ps. The only way for me to know for sure, I'd have to take it apart so that I could place it on the porch...
