depends on where you live. Goats are agricultural animals. Check with count extension office if they can be permitted in town.

Goats don't always eat what you want them to. They love to forage which means they travel around and find the best morsels. They will eat your other plants, too. If you want a good lawn mower get a sheep. They pretty much stay in one spot and they eat almost all kinds of herbage. The problem with agricultural animals is that when they eliminate, though it is good fertilizer some of the seeds of what they consumed now will go back into the earth and germinate again. It is a never ending cycle. Sometimes you can hire a person who rents his animals out to take care of overgrown areas. He usually has to stay with the animals to control where they go. Jackie, I'm afraid your idea won't work unless you add some cows. Cows eat the grass and goats eat the weeds.
