I love my home but in most of our renovations and updates, we have played it save with a neutral palette. In addition the floor in our foyer and kitchen, is not to my taste. However, it would cost a small fortune to replace, not to mention the upheaval. So for the past 20 years, we decorate around the floor colours and we are very happy with the palette. However, we now have a very ivory, gold, beige, brown palette. Since my daring update to my dining room a couple of years ago, I am much braver now and I actually CRAVE new colours.
So 2014 is the year of colour at our house. I began last week, in our foyer by painting a re-purposed dining room piece that is a catch-all table by our front door.
A vibrant oil painting in the same area was my source of colour inspiration.
I am thrilled with the outcome!
