Small office/guest room

If you're going to have outside clients coming to your home , the love seat sleeper definitely . If its just a place to craft and sit down to pay bills , the daybed with a trundle. I wouldn't get a futon unless your only anticipated guests are under 18. Those things aren't very comfortable .

I did this .. was a professor needed room as office but also room for a grandchild and craft room-- I chose a futon that had a great mattress these r not the ones we used to have during the day it was a great place for me to sit. In the closet-- very small! we organized the bedding but also the office supplies. I then went with a table instead of a desk because this was more versatile for use and everything is storable-- next we chose a tall thin bookcase -- if u can picture everything could be placed in storage containers so if I wanted to do crafts on the weekend I just moved the containers! The printer stayed fixed on the desk and I went with a 2 drawer cabinet that fit under the table. For my other files I put in the basement. Thankfully today I use Evernote.

I bought a smallish sofa/sleeper and it is working out really well. A daybed took up too much floor space and always looked like a bed which I didn't want.

Have you considered a Murphy bed? I personally love that idea for ours, since you can use a comfy mattress and it's completely out of the way when you don't have guests. Otherwise I like the futon vs. daybed because of the comfort of sitting on it, if you plan to use it for sitting and reading or whatever. If you'll only have guests who sleep singly, loveseat sleepers could be ok, but make sure what you're getting for a mattress, they can still be pretty uncomfortable. My two cents...:)

Futons are not comfortable for either sleeping or sitting. The daybed can be uncomfortable for sitting. I would go with the sleeper loveseat option as you will likely use the space more for an office than as a sleeping area. Will give it a nice 'planned' office look.

Futons look collegiate cheap and most are not comfortable. . Sofa beds can be nice, but check out the matress factor first, many are lousy. Consider a murphy bed. If the office space is just personal consider making it a nice atractive bedroom with bed and a table desk where you feel you are the guest on vacation, doing a bit of work in your room.

I have a futon, and it feels comfortable to me. I get lost in soft, big cushions, and I am short with short legs.

I lie comfortably on my futon for snoozing. I can treat it like a full - size bed or a couch or a day bed.

You can get some nice futon covers that make it look like a nice couch. Mine has a deep navy blue with white bamboo on it. There are many chic styles out there.

I hate hide - a-beds because they have a hump underneath that hits me right in the back ribs. A futon doesn't have that. A guest room is not meant to be as comfortable as your bed at home, though a futon is thicker and firmer than a pull - out bed. And a futon is good for sitting.

A futon is good for a snooze, too, if you get tired of working on papers or computer or other office things.
