This post is for all of you who haven't been blessed with a green thumb (like me) or just want to add a little no-fuss, no-care greenery in your home. With a few items from the Dollar Store, and a little potting soil, you can easily create these cute little faux succulent planters too in minutes!
We used small glass candle holders that were purchased at the Dollar Tree for this project. We filled them a little less than 1/2 way with potting soil. This helps keep the illusion alive that you can successfully keep a little plant alive . . . on a shelf . . . far away from any natural light source . .
Next we added a layer of little rocks. These rocks were also purchased at the Dollar Tree. These rocks also aid in keeping the succulent plant stem upright in the glass holder.
To complete our faux succulent planters, we added a faux succulent plant purchased at . . . you guessed it . . The Dollar Tree. We tucked in a little Spanish Moss around any exposed stem. Note: If the stems are too long, use a wire cutter to cut them to size so that they fit nicely in the jar.
These are so easy and inexpensive to create. They look great sitting on a shelf or on the window-sill. The best part is, they are easy to care for. If they get dusty, just pull them out and wash/dry them and replace!
