Vintage Trunk Makeover

This beaten up old trunk was given to me years ago. I finally got around to working on it. I wasn't sure where I was going with it when I started, but I like where it ended up. CNR is the railroad that runs through our small town, from which my husband is retiring after riding the rails for 35 years.
Before
Top, emblem was used in the 50's and 60's
I reinforced the lid to straighten in up and refinished the inside.

My Mother had an old trunk like the first picture posted where she stored blankets and winter clothes in it..have no idea where she got it, maybe from her Mother-in-law's estate. Mama and Daddy always bought second hand furniture, only bought a new dining room set when they'd been married 25 and 50 years she got a new living room sofa and chair. Maybe I'll ask a few of my older siblings if they know where she acquired the trunk.
