My friend would like to know if anyone can tell her what this is growing on the bark in the pot with her green peas? I have never seen this before and could not help her.

Bark and mulch typically harbors mushrooms, toadstool and fungi. It's because the bark holds moisture (which they like). I had it in one of my orchids but the died off when I put the pot in full sun.
On the wood pieces....my bet is a fungus.
Definitely a cylindrical capped mushroom. Mushrooms break down decaying wood in the forest, they are able to extract nutrients from decaying wood. Never eat unless you know for sure.... cause they can kill your liver.
To much moisture for sure. apply a fungicide
I eit is a mushrom. Love how delicate and cone like it is. I would surely enjoy it, it is too small to do any harm and adds an aged exotic touch to the planter.
Toadstools are pretty too & they are poisonous. Kill it.
