Hello!

Do you collect scrap wood? I find so many uses for scrap wood that I just can't part with it.

Although I love scrap wood I don't like the mess and space it takes up in my garage. In an effort to clean and organize the garage I came up with these easy to make wood holders that I will show you how to make here.

Here is the pile of wood in my garage.
I created my holders out of scrap wood. If you don't have any scrap wood all you need is 2 - 2x4x8 and 1 - 1x4x8.

After the cuts were made I drilled and screwed 3 1/2 inches screws from the back of the supports into the edge of the bottom piece.
Using a stud finder, locate the studs to where you will attach the holders. Most studs are located 16 inches apart.  Then I drilled and screwed the holders into the studs.

I lined up three on the wall placing them 32 inches apart and then added the 1 x 4 arms with 2 1/2 inch screws.
Finally I added a couple more up higher and placed those closer together for shorter wood pieces.
I am so happy how they turned out and delighted I was able to get the wood off of the floor.
