Hey y’all! Chanda here, and I’m continuing to Zest Up my outdoor space! Geesh, I am lovin’ these long, sunny summer days. Today we are looking into outdoor lighting for those fun summer nights spent on the back patio! Cheers to DIY lighting projects!

Here is a crazy simple project that I am totally in love with….using $1 store solar lights to create unique, one-of-a-kind lighting for my space.
This was a piece that I found ages ago for displaying candlelight. I found it, of course, at a garage sale for next to nothing. I really love the look of light coming through the frosted glass, but I didn’t want to have to deal with melty candles in the July heat. So, it was time to switch things up.
The inside needed a good scrub, but when all was said in done, this project was a quickie. It was simply a matter of replacing tea-lights with mini solar lights. I spent a whopping $4 on these!
After popping the top off, it was time for some hot glue gunnin’.
Working quickly, before the glue cooled, I rimmed each light and plunked them on the tea-light stands.
Such a simple fix….and I’m loving the glow.
It’s beautiful at night, and the best part is that I never have to think about these guys or turn them on. Here’s to not having to scrap wax or pay out the nose for a constant supply of tea-lights. I love that my lights are on every night! Instantly welcoming, don’t you think?

Very nice!! I use these little solar lights a lot on my patio. Mostly in candelabra I find at thrift shops.

Love the look, but do you set it out in the sun every day so the solar lights recharge, or do they get enough light just sitting on your porch?
