DIY Girls Bed Net Canopy

Instead of paying $20 for an already made bed net canopy. My daughter and I made one together for under $10!
I got lucky and found some of the other items I needed on clearance at Michaels along with using a coupon. That really helped keep the cost down.

Even without the coupon this project can easily come in under $10.
I purchased the curtains from Ikea, but any sheers would work perfectly. I have plans of adding some lights to the top eventually.

The very first step in creating the canopy is separating the inner and outer rings on the quilting hoop. You simply loosen the screw at the top of the hoop and pull them apart.
Once you have separated the rings, slide the sheers onto the outer ring. Keep in mind the fabric may snag on the hoop so be careful when sliding the fabric onto the hoop.
The full instructions on how to create this super easy canopy are on my blog. I had a great time creating this with my 7 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it!
Here is a quick video outlining all of the steps to create this easy bed canopy!

When putting the curtains on the hoop, put masking tape over the end, this will keep your material from snagging. I do this on regular metal curtain rods.
