I found that they bloom if you DON'T cut them back. Some years you must cut them as they can get too large. Stop cutting back as see what happens the next season.
some varieties bloom on old wood.
Hi. Some hydrangeas form their buds and bloom on last year's stalks and so it sounds like you are cutting off the bloom when you cut them down each fall. Why don't you wait next year and see what happens?
Don't cut them back!
I had the same thing happen. I was told to get a different fertilizer that has more acid and made for hydrangeas. Look on the box of fertilizer for plants suggested and find one recommended for hydrangeas. (We no longer live where I had that plant and I have not planted one where I live now.) Good luck!
In spring cut out only the dead stems and leave the others alone. Buy some organic fertilizer and use only this. Rosetone is a good one.
I agree. Only prune your hydrangeas in the spring---never in the fall--if you want them to bloom.
