How do you remove a floodlight that is stuck in the socket in recesse?

WD40! Unless it is broken, then slice a pototoe in half and stick in bulb and twist it out!
We've used needle nose pliers to grab pieces of the part that's stuck in the socket. You could try that.

Try a big magnet tied to some sturdy string. Try moving or shaking the light or any mechanism nearby to see if the flashlight might fall. Will the flashlight cause a short or other electrical problem? Leave it. Is it visible from the outside? My uncle Herman used to say he found more tools in old house walls than he took to the job. Shut off the power!*** Spray with WD40, let seep in and try to remove. The old potato trick may work if you break the globe and expose the filament, shove it into a potato and turn. (I use pliers).
If bulb is broken, Take a potato and cut it in half, and jam it into the socket and turn.
Turn off the electricity to that fixture! Wrap bulb in a damp towel that you will throw away after you break the bulb, then take needle nose pliers and remove the bulb base...wear safety goggles, and good gloves. Wetting the towel will keep tiny shards of glass contained.
