This project shows the steps needed to make your very own large paper rose. Its a fun and easy way to decorate your home.
To start the project you want to have the items pictured.
You will need 24 sheets of 65 lb cardstock
If you are having trouble designing your own rose templates. They can be purchased in my Etsy Shop.
You will need to cut and trace 8 Large petals
You will need to cut and trace 12 medium petals
You will need to cut and trace 8 small petals
Starting with the small petals you will place hot glue at the square base on of petals and attached another on top. This will make a bow tie shape.
Next you will take both ends and form them towards each . You will place 2 dots of glue only on one end and wrap it around the other side to form a cone.
You now have your starting point. You will continue to add the remaining 6 small petals to the rose bud.
You will add 1 petal at a time.. remember to keep the square base of each petals at the bottom.
Next we will rose the large petals with a large glue stick. Both edges of the petals should be rolled in the same direction.
Then you add the medium petals the same way you added the previous petals. Place a line of glue at tge edge of each petals starting at the base. About 2 inche line of glue on each side. You push the petal up and it will attach to the rose bud.
Continue this process for the next 3 petals
We are now getting to the 2nd layer of medium petals. You want to place a dot of glue inatead of a line on the inner bottom edges. This will allow you to form the petals anf force them to start blooming outward.
On the last layer of medium petals and large petals you will go back to the glue line technique. This will allow you to start placing the petals inbetween one another.
Once all petals are added, you have yourself a BEAUTIFUL paper rose!

I have several rose bushes that actually bloom with two colors. One of these roses starts with a very light beige trimmed dark pink edge another starts with a very pale yellow with a almost turquoise edge. Each rose bush had to smell "good" before I bought it and had to have an unique color. Only 2 survived all the water we have had the last 2 years.
