If it has a thick, glossy leaf, I am pretty sure it is a kalanchoe.

It looks like a Kalanchoe to me. They are considered a tropical succulent. In the southwest they need shade from the hot afternoon sun in order to keep the leaves from burning. They will burn if too close to a glass window in the inside of the house no matter where you live. I know all this from experience. Kalanchoe's come in a large variety of usually bright colors such as red, orange-red, orange, bright and light yellow and bright and light pink. Over-watering will cause the main stem to rot and under-watering causes it to shrivel up and die. Great plant though. Keep it dead-headed (pinch off the dead and dying flowers and dead or dying flower stems) and you will be rewarded with almost continuous flowering.

My favorite site for plant questions is 'gardeningknowhow.com' - go there for more information. I didn't check it today, but I'm 99% sure of the info I gave you

Thanks! It was so pretty & full of flowers when I first purchased it. I repotted it today into a slightly largue container and have pinched back the dead, dying flowers. Hope it comes back. I'm placing in on my dining table that gets indirect southern light. Just hope I didn't overwater it. Hoping the repotting will help that.

If you cut it back, like most other flowering houseplants, it will rebloom. I bought a white one before Christmas 2016, have cut it back twice and it is on its 3rd set of blooms now.
