Buckling Wallpaper-What can I do to keep the wallpaper flat ?

I had a handyman lay new wallpaper on my dining room walls. Everything seemed fine until it started to bubble and even peel. He fixed it but it didn't hold. It bubbles the most and the seams when it is humid. There are no gaps at the seams. What can I do to keep the wallpaper flat for good? Thank you!

I would call him back and tell him to fix it again. Maybe he didn't use the proper technique, but if you paid him, it's your right to continue to call him until it's right.
In my opinion, of course. It's possible he didn't prepare the surface properly. This article might help you figure it out so you can tell him what needs to be done.

The only other choice I can see is to remove what's there and start over.

We once had to have a handyman come back and repaint 3 times because the paint had shiny streaks in it. He wasn't happy, but he was working with expensive paint and we weren't about to pay him until it was fixed. To this day, we still have one spot that is shiny - but we finally gave in and let it go. It's not a spot that shows a lot. One of these days, I'm going to buy cheaper paint (a brand I always use) and fix that spot myself. Sadly, due to this error on his part, we will never recommend him to our friends for any paint job.

    Good Luck

If this is happening, then slice very carefully, and if it won't show, then use a flat piece of metal, to smooth it, and let it be. Don't be playing with it, or just put a piece of furniture in front of it. It will look fine. Next time you wall paper, use a flat piece of metal, and press out all the bubbles, and you will be fine. Best wishes, J.

I found some cute wallpaper that looked like tiles. I applied it to my formica backsplash and not long after it all started peeling. I removed it all, cleaned the formica and applied kilz adhesion primer then repapered. It's been over a year now and paper is staying put. I hope this helps.

I would call him back, too. I would not accept that.
