When using cinder blocks for plants what do you use on bottom so dirt

Try putting your plant in a pot and dropping it in the cinder block. I have some large pots about 2 feet tall and I fill them up with blocks of styrofoam that I have saved from ordering things online. About 10 or 12 inches from the top, I stop and put a black trash bag in the open space, fill it with dirt, put my plant in and trim the plastic just about 1" inside. This has worked great, because filling a 3 foot pot I could not even lift it.

I would think a square of screening would do the trick.

You can glue concrete stepping stones to the bottom. #2 you can glue wire cloth to the bottom and add weed block screen to the inside bottom to keep the dirt in. #3 You can add rocks and gravel to the bottom if you are not going to move them. #4 You can cut up a 1/2 gallon/quart milk jug to fit on the inside of the cinder block.

Hi there, we placed plastic bags inside ours and it works well. Just ensure that there are a few holes in the bottom for drainage and pack the bags tightly with soil.
