I love making over furniture! I...LOVE...IT! ❤

My latest had been in the works since last fall, but when the weather changed, I had to put it on hold. I'm excited to have finally finished it!!! I found the table on the side of the road, out for the trash. It had broken slate and it was rusty. icon
So the work began! I have a video that better shows the steps...it's short and worth it! You can see the video here:

Here are some highlights:
So the work began! The video better shows the steps...it's short and worth it! Here are some highlights:
I broke out the slate. It took a little work.
I used a wire brush to clean off the rust.
I used a rust converter spray on it and then painted it with a black spray paint ~ indoor/outdoor.
I spread glue all over it - to make sure there were no seams where the resin might leak out of.
Then I collected natural materials, like sticks, pine cones, shells, leaves, walnuts, etc.
Mixed resin, with pigment powders. If you are looking for a full product list, you can find it in the video description, or at the link below.
Add layers and add your sticks, leaves, shells, etc.
Cut it down.
Sand it down smooth.
Add a final layer of resin, to finish it off.
Here is a close up on a small section of the table. Be sure to watch the video to see the full table!
Be sure to watch the full transformation and see the beautiful results!
Here's a bonus Garbage to Gorgeous®!

Exactly why did you use the torch on the table for this project? I so want to do this! Maybe make two of them one for myself of course and one for a good friend of mine, hers I want more shells in.. like a beach scene. Could I use starfish, sand dollars as well? Oh, you have my imagination running overboard. Now I need to be on the lookout for some sort of table to use.. two of them!

I just love the colors. I need to check your supply list, to understand about the resin and colors. So beautiful.. you now have a new fan.. I will follow your instructions to get notices on your other projects!

There were 2 small square tables left at this house when I bought it and I have persisted in wanting to find a way to repair the broken tiles that have again broken as this table was.The size is not a standard floor tile size to use to cover the top BUT This intrigues me. I am thinking of doing it with old jewelry arranged as though just lying on the tables and avoiding the sanding part. Would that work? It would be a hoot since my kids say my patio choices look fine for an old lady!!!!

With the table could you add like a rainbow of glitter as you layer it in the table?
