Recycle old cans by turning them into DIY tin can utensil holders and vases. A very cheap, useful, and pretty idea for DIY home decor!
Paint the tin can with different shades of acrylic paint. The most important thing here is to find a color that matches your home decor and to have fun while painting! Wait for the paint to dry before moving to the next step.
Use a thin brush to outline the different shapes and colors with black paint. The contrast will make the colors pop.
Make cute polka dots using a Q tip.
Use a nail and a hammer to make a small hole on the tin can. You will use this hole to hang the can on a nail on the wall.
For the DIY tin can utensil holder, cut a piece of napkin to use as a liner.
Here you can see the two tin can utensil holders and the two vases I made from old tin cans. All four are hung on my kitchen wall using the holes in the cans and thin nails. I also glued some labels so I don't get confused which one holds the forks and which one has the spoons :) Visit my blog, fashionbulb.com, for more cute and useful DIY ideas for your home!
