Making soap can be really tricky. Are you having trouble making it? Or did you buy it from someone who needs to adjust their recipe? If you are buying it, let the person who made it know, as a courtesy, so that they can fix the issue before selling it to other customers that way.

Its not hard at all....its one of the easiet things to make. Its normal to separate. Just shake it.

do you know what makes soap..Liquid? SALT. I called ivory soap and asked how can the bar soap and liquid soap both be natural yet one is solid and one is liquid. They told me..SALT. Go figure.

I would just SHAKE it and be done with it. :)

  • I have the same problem, apparently, I added too much water (even though I followed the directions). My husband suggested we add a little clear liquid Dawn and that helped a little. I have read many others with the same disappointment.

Don't mix different kinds or brands.

What are you using for your soap base? You may have an inferior brand... I use Dr. Bronners for my hand soaps and dish detergents. I don't have a problem with separating. I did have a separation issue one time when I used too my glycerin in my hand soap.

I used castile bar soap.I made this batch so long ago I don't know how much glycerin I used. I will try to watch that. As an unexpected bonus I've poured off the "watery" part, thinned it down more with water and it works great in my foaming dispenser.

  • Because you are using natural ingredients and not chemicals that are typically used to keep things coagulated. Just give a good shake or two before using.
