Remodeled Foyer (Step by Step)

One of my favorite big projects of last year was our foyer. When we bought the house, the stairs were covered in blue outdoor carpeting and the flooring was pink faux marble tile. I've always thought the foyer sets the tone for the whole house - it's the first impression visitors have when they come to your house - and outdoor carpet and faux marble were not the impressions I was wanting to send. So I got to work and over a period of about 9 months I completely transformed our entry way. The entire project was around $500 because I used 3/4 inch plywood for the wainscoting. This is our forever house so I wanted good materials. You could use MDF and cut the cost easily in half.

Absolutely fabulous and looks very up-market. I love the grey colour and white woodwork. Just one question, did you find it difficult to cut and match the angles on the mouldings, because they look fabulous too!
