Does anyone know what type of plant this is? It has seeds inside the pods. They have been on the plant for about a month and have not blossomed yet. Any ideas or comments? Please and thank you...Susie

No I belive it is called blue mist Nigelia A beautiful blue flower If you let the pods dry you can use them in dry floral arrangements. or you can let them dry on the plant until they become dry crisp ........open them up and re seed for next year..if the seed is green it is not dry enough....if it is black it is ready to re=seed

If you had a picture of the actual plant, it would help a lot. I think the pods look too thick, to be Chinese lanterns. If I could see the plant, I could help more.

Thank you all for the info. The plant looks just like mine...threadlike leaves and stems. I really appreciate your help

It's definitely Nigella damascena/love-in-a-mist, a beautiful little annual that seeds down prodigiously. The blooms are shades of incredible blue and the seed pods are attractive too ...

Mine come up all over the garden and are such a shot of a difficult colour to find in the later summer that I just let them have their way!

I have these. Every year, few months, weeks, days, and so on, I plan to take a cutting of this and others to the nursery to have them officially identified, instead of debating with others as to what they might be, but never get around to it. Thanks for the info.
