We used some unexpected materials to make this colorful, whimsical Vintage Inspired Arrow Sign. Our theme and palette are summer inspired, taking their cues from Summer Camp and Salt Water Taffy. Fun and easy to recreate, with lots of tips and tricks for faux finishing. Watch the video, then grab the instructions below.
Step one: Use wide flat brush to paint Chalk Paint on sign.
Step two: Paint words and & with Chalk Paint. Let paint dry.
Step three: Use paintbrush or ruler and pencil to help as you create angled lines with the multi-surface paints. Leave white space between colored stripes.
Step four: Use ruler and pencil to draw light lines, you'll need three colored stripes with white in between.
Step five: Once paint is dry, sand letters to distress, wipe clean.
Step six: Cut paper straws on angles to fit quill of arrow.
Step seven: Use hot glue to attach words and straw quills to sign. I used longer straw segments at the front of the arrow as well.
How pretty is this? (Note: This is best hung inside, the paper straws are not waterproof!)
