If you have dark furniture, it is probably best to go with lighter walls, and vice versa. That will give you a nice contrast and show off your furniture. Choose a wall color that complements the paint color or wood tone of your furniture pieces so the room will be coordinated.

I wouldn't worry it. Most any color will do. I never pay attention to my furniture when I am painting.

When choosing a wall color, it is best to pick one dominant color that you see throughout your decor - in your pillows, in the fabric designs of curtains or furniture. It's usually best to stick with a 3-color scheme with one color that ties things together. You can add other colors, of course, but they need to be minimal and make a statement, as well as, should not clash with the dominant (3) colors that you choose. It's been my experience that if you want to know what colors look best together, just look to nature - flowers, etc.

Choose the background color if it has a print. Then choose a color from the furniture for curtains.

Here's a wonderful neutral color that will work with anything you have in your room, it's Valspar Oyster Pearl. Visit the paint department in Lowes and check out the paint card. It's light, warm, neutral and pleasing to the eye. A satin finish goes on smooth and is easy to clean. Best of luck.

  • depends on the color of your furniture... look at the color samples in the paint store to compare to furniture color.
