Sometimes those stone tops crack and crumble and break! ...but that doesnt mean its useless! Recreate one you love!

How sad right?? In pristine shape! But,.. no top. :-(

I found this image online (not mine) of what it likely used to look like!

I love all the storage and could see this being SUCH a great dry bar complete with a retractable rod for a bar towel! I made it my mission to make this guy be put to great use! ..admittedly it sat for months until the idea for a removable tray top struck me!

I picked up a prefab wood panel from Lowes and a piece of trim that was slightly wider.

I cut the trim at 45* angles to create finished edge and a lip that would allow the top to catch on the piece. On the inside of the tray I wanted to create a pretty image and decided to use the brand work that was on the back side.

I was able to see it was created by H B Mudge!

And so using my Cricut and some 631 Oracle (Temporary) vinyl I created a stencil.

using these AMAZING gilding powders I made a sightly aged looking branding on the inside of the tray top.

What mess! But then I removed the stencil..

Lovely right?! And because its s powder there are absolutely no hints of it bleeding under the stencil!
