What color of door do you think would look good on our house? Thinking about staining the garage doors and front door a dark walnut color. Or maybe make the front door a pop of color. Suggestions?

The shutters are a very dark navy, almost black. Exterior of the house is tan. Roof is dark grey.

The dark color on the shutters for the garage and a color, like robins egg blue for the front door would look lovely I think.

I like the colors you have now on the garage doors! To make them dark might make them look like caves (like mine did). You could use the color you come up with for the front door to accent your garage doors by painting just the inside edges of the white trim closest to the doors! If you don't have a computer program you can use to play with the different color choices, pick some paint sample strips from the paint department and cut them up to lay on your picture so see how the colors would look. That way you don't throw away your money on a color you may not like in the end. You could accent (frame)your garage doors like I suggested with the same color as your shutters, which would tie it all together and use your color pop on the door only. I know blue is popular right now, but I can picture a more vibrant color like red or even orange...warm colors that would go with the neutrals you're using.

I agree, leave the garage doors, otherwise you will have the look of 2 gaping holes.

Red, yellow or blue would be nice for the door.

Sherwan Williams Luxe blue is a nice shade. On a computer monitor it looks like a dusty blue, but on a chip outside it is quite pretty and more bright,

Hi Jessie, Here's a few examples of what your house would look like with a colored door. If you want to play with it yourself: Save your picture to "paint" and you can play with colors!

    Have fun!! :)

Hello Jessie; Your home is quite Beautiful. It I were working on it, I would paint the front door and garage doors the same color as your shutters.

The Navy blue is a bold color and would stand out.

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

Very lovely home! I would do black garage doors Being your home is classy and timeless. The front door I would go with red because it's set set in. I would add urn pots to left and right side of double garage doors and window boxes to the window.

I have read two things about painting a front door.... your front door color should be nowhere else on the exterior of your home....and....a red front door means your house is paid off. Can not wait to paint my front door red...haha!

    POP.

I painted my front doors red when I paid off the mortgage, but it has several other meanings. Why not look into the meaning of front door colors and choose the one that best describes you and the aura of your abode?
