I got a cat little bucket from the recycling at my son's house. I planned to make a little storage stool and holder for some books and little toys for my 2 and a half year old great grandson. We are hoping he and his parents will visit the end of Aug.
I washed and dried the Tidy cat bucket
I then painted it with some great spray paint that is great for painting plastic
I then cut some left over Mattress cover which I had left over from another project.
This is the little cover I made for the pad .I got the fabric at the fabric store. I/3 of a yard I then machine stitched a piece of elastic to each corner
I then made cuts in the all corners of the lid. I heat up an old knife to just melt the splits at the corners. Always keep an eye on the knife with you heat it- don't have children in the area when you do this part. Also good ventilation. It will stink of hot plastic
As you can see the elastic was slipped into the cool plastic lid openings and tied.
Now I have a little storage stool for a toddler to use on Labor day weekend! Books and some toys are in side all set up for him. Scraps of left over fabric was cut out to embellish the sides of the bucket. Spray contact glue was used to put the embellishments on the bucket. When that was dry the embellishments were painted over will puzzle glue. The pillow was sprayed twice with a fabric protector.

Why paint the bucket yellow when it was already yellow? Just peel off the stickers and wash.I could see painting it blue maybe.

Hi I will remember that about the rock salt bucket, I will also tell my son's about that That would be a great help in the winter .To put the open bag of rock salt in. I wanted to ask you do you put something in your toilet brush holder ? I read that people put some pine oil in the toilet brush holder to set the brush in .I never liked doing that What I do is I have mouth wash in a spray bottle I spray the toilet brush head with that after I clean the toilet. Then set it in the brush holder Nothing nasty cooking away on the brush that way. Also all tooth brushes are regularly sprayed off with the mouth wash
