I use canvas drop clothes tucked and pinned in place. They are fairly soft after washing and drying, easy to wash, can be cut down to a workable size and also can be decorated with paint and stencils. I've seen tutorials for sewing them into a fitted cover, also.

There are many version of slip covers for many different couch styles. Mine couch and love seat are in a style known as Lawson. Rectangular and boxy. I have cats...just 2 ...but of course they hair ball and shed. The easiest fabric for me to tuck in tight is polar fleece. The stuff washes well has a bit of stretch.

Good idea. I have looked and looked and the store bought are either an ugly color and just don't fit right and are way too expensive. Thank you for your suggestion.

You could just cover it with a colorful quilt.

Put a hedge around it on three sides to block it from view.

Measure your couch starting at the floor behind the couch. If the back is visible in you lay out. Bring the tape measure across the top down the back to the seat...then to the floor. Then measur across the back For length. I have found it easier to tuck in if I have just 2 pieces....not one big one. The arms of my couch are wooden...so just tuck and drape the arms on yours.

It's not a slipcover, but adding a colorful throw on the back of your sofa is an easy way to give it a new look!
