What will remove the sticky residue from jars.

I can get the labels off without too much effort but the sticky
residue left is almost impossible to get off.
I*m a bit handicapped so I need something that will dissolve it
without scrubbing it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Believe it or not but WD40 works better and faster then some of the other remedies I've tried and I've tried several that I read about online. This stuff is amazing! Just spray it on then either use a flat plastic pot scraper or a rag and it just comes right off! I always like to then wash the area with soap and water before using my jars. Super fast and easy.
