Have you thought about replacing the old windows with some stained glass inserts? Or get creative and painting those ?

Could you form one long window out of them instead? And put some nice window coverings in them?

Before you go to the trouble and expense of removing them and residing, etc, maybe just change the look of the windows. Paint the white frame around the windows the same dark brown as the garage door to tone them down. Or you could add mullions to make them more "window-like". Or even just some interior rattan shades for the windows---they are inexpensive and easy to hang.

Cover them with wood or metal inserts on the outside, and paint in the darker brown of the garage doors. That way, if someone later wants to uncover the glass, they can. Add inserts inside, too, if that's a concern. Best wishes 😇

The trim on the windows and door add to the sense of oddness. Perhaps to lessen that get rid of the dark brown trim altogether. The dark brown and white draw attention to the odd placement, highlighting the disjointed effect of the garage. In this case less is more. There is so much going on it makes ones eyes cross.
