Use Natures Miracle available in pet stores.
vineger spray soon as dog uses then spray carpet shampoo
If this is old, long term heavy damage none of these expensive products will work. Don't waste your money or time. Replace.
If you want to get rid of the odor permanently you will need an enzyme carpet shampoo. This is also key to getting rid of the discoloration itself.
This worked well for me.... "Mix 1 part water, and 3 parts vinegar. Spray. Let it soak for 30 minutes. Mix 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide, 2 teaspoons of baking soda, and a squirt of dish-washing liquid. Shake it well. Spray, and let it soak/dry. Adjustments can be made for the measurements, to your liking."
Instead of mixing in the baking soda I sprinkled it on the area and then sprayed the hydrogen peroxide and blue dawn on it, rubbed it in with my fingers, let it dry and vacuum. The carpet smelled so good and fresh after.
I also keep Nature's Miracle on hand.
Use URINE GONE. Buy at Walgreens.
Bubba's odor Terminator. Available from Amazon. I had my rug professionally cleaned without complete success. I still needed this stuff. Follow directions for use.
I had renters with a very naughty dog. I tried vinegar and blotting. No luck. I called in the pros at a cost of over $400. Still had smell and stains. Then, as a last ditch effort before replacing carpets, I found My Pet Peed on line. No stains and no odor. It's been several years and the carpet still looks and smells clean. Super easy, not very expensive. And, no, I am not a paid spokesperson, just a very satisfied customer. Best wishes. Not a fun problem to have!
I use Natures Miracle from Amazon.com. Guaranteed and works fantastically!
