Burning Experiment

I saw someone do some shading with stain, I've recently been experimenting with burning wood and wanted to bring them together. This is my experiment.
Wanting to experiment but also actually make something I designed a cross.

I wanted to see if there is a way to get decent lines when burning. During experimentation I needed at least 4 layers of aluminum foil to get enough blockage for a decent line. I folded the foil on itself and placed it where I wanted the wood to be protected.
I used a torch I got in the plumbing department to burn the wood. One thing I learned was that the knot does not burn the same.
Decent lines! Next experiment will be seeing if I can cut out a stencil and get curved lines.
I used Unicorn SPiT to add some color.
And made the mistake of leaving it out to dry where the sprinkler would hit it so most of my SPiT washed off.
I liked it enough that I sealed it with a spray on sealer, added a hanger and am keeping it on my wall of experiments.
