Yes, these are nasturtiums. They are not perennials but do self-seed when they drop seeds. Fantastic flowers.

After it flowers, collect the seeds. If you grow vegetables, this is one of the better repellent plants. They are also edible, with a pepper type taste.

I doubt that they repel bugs, but they do attract aphids. They help to keep the aphids off your tomatoes and other veggies. If you normally get aphids, look at the underside of the nasturtium leaves, and if they're covered with aphids, just pick off the leaves and dispose of them -- no chemicals. These flowers survive in poor, rocky soil, and the garden soil may be so rich that all they are producing are leaves. As the veggies use up the soil nutrition, they'll probably flower.

This is so weird just yesterday I heard some ladies talking at a baby shower and they said that your garden can be perfectly beautiful if you add a tablespoon of Epsom salt to the soil mix it up in there and then throw the dirt on top and you're golden! Good luck

The leaves, flowers and seeds are edible. Try them is salads for a slightly peppery taste and spectacular colour.
