My husband is a chain smoker. Everything is yellow...

I manage to clean up most of the nicotine stains, but the stains are also on my clothes and my white shirts are yellow. I've hidden his cigarettes, etc. and he will not quit. How do I keep my clothes nicotine free and smelling nice? Dry cleaner plastic does not work, nor closet garment bags, keeping my closet doors shut, fans, and not allowing him to smoke in the bedroom. It drives me crazy.

my dad was a chain smoker...I feel your pain. The kids in hs would try to bum a cig from me...I don't smoke, but I smelled like it. We had a spare car....didn't get on the road much..nice clothes rack in the back.

hydrogen peroxide in the wash with whites but check for colored items or use a oxy treatment for color clothes. Adding a cup of white vinegar to your wash will remove the odors nicely.

I have discovered that adding 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 cup baking soda per load of wash gets rid of cigarette smoke odor........

Gross - not to say how selfish. Cut a deal with him. He smokes outside in exchange for something he likes. maybe no more nagging ;)

Get him to a doctor or at least a non-smoking clinic. Tell him to make sure his will is up to date. And I'm serious about that!

Sal, his will is up-to-date. He's been to the stop smoking clinics. the Canadian Cancer Clinics, tried the patch, the gum....nothing works. He even smokes in the bathroom while doing his biz. UGH.

SERIOUS! THIS IS A SOLUTION FOR THE LONG RUN , Ok find out what kind of cigarettes he smokes , go to a tobacco store, buy "ALL NATURAL PIPE TOBACCO " its $12.50 bag and you get 2 1/2 cartons of smokes out of this bag, and the tubes 200 per box ((THIS DEPENDS ON WHAT BRAND HE SMOKES)) around 2 to 3.00 per box , a rolling machine costs around 45.00 , Now once he has been smoking the natural tobacco (1. It does not have the crap that other cigarettes have in it that makes it so addictive!! 2. It costs whole lot cheaper after you buy the roller, 3. BETTER FOR YOU THAN REGULAR CIGARETTES!AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OR SO HE WILL NOT CRAVE A CIGG!! 4. He will love them because he will feel better, and they last TWICE AS LONG , regular smoke 5 minutes, all natural tobacco 10 minutes if he's enjoying it and not sucking it down lol ! IN THE LONG RUN IT WILL BE EASIER FOR HIM TO QUIT, HE WILL NOT CRAVE A SMOKE ( his mind will say I want one just cause) but his body will tell him I'm not craving them anymore..

SMOKERS CAN TELL YOU ,IF THEY DON'T HAVE A CIGG THEIR GOING TO STRANGLE SOMEBODY ,ITS ADDICTIVE LIKE DRUGS!

Get him on ALL NATURAL TOBACCO, AND NOT THE 6 to 7 dollars a pack one either! You can get 5 Cartons from what you spend on one Regular carton of smokes, In the long run hopefully he just easily quits , or his Nerves can stand not having one until he goes outside to smoke, I'm telling you this because my husband and I did this , Now Feeling a lot better, smoke once in a Great while outside!

FOR THE CIGG STAINS, PUT ON PROTECTION, USE BLEACH WATER AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A FAN RUNNING AND OPEN ALL WINDOWS,PROTECT ANY THING FROM THE BLEACH, YOU MAY WANT TO REWASH WITH A MILDER SOAP AFTERWARDS BECAUSE OF THE SMELL!!!

    Good luck ....
