Posts that are weight bearing what do i do??

we have two weight bearing posts that were covered with ugly tiles, we tore the tile off now we got 3 two by 4 s holding the ceiling up and need to hide them, with little money and they are so ugly, any cheap ideas?

Could you stain them? Or you could paint them or paint them and then distress them. Or you could paint them with metallic paint to make them look like metal poles. They also make faux stone to cover up posts. Here are some links as well:

Maybe you should call in a Surveyor or Builder for their opinion, you don't have to ack on them, but they may be useful to you.
It depends on how you have the room decorated. You could plaster the top half and put boards on the bottom and angled edging where it meets, but then carry that save design around on the other walls too.
Welcome to Florida, land of no building codes. Not squared up? Not square to which end, floor, or ceiling ? Is it 3 2x4s side by side, or are they mechanically fastened together with nails or screws to form a solid 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" beam ? If its a beam and you want to maintain the wood look, consider wrapping it with 1/4" luan plywood. I specify luan for 2 reasons, its thinner than real 1/4" ply therefore cheaper, and luan is a superior wood surface for finishing. Its smooth grain takes both stain/varnish or paint equally well. You have 16" of wrap, (3 1/2 x2 + 41/2 x 2) so you could buy 1/2 sheet, 2' x 8' . if you go this route, remember that those dimensions do not include the thickness of the luan, which you will add to each piece as you cut it so as to not have exposed edges. Do NOT have the people at Home Depot cut this for you, they will not guarantee any dimension. There's more to this, if you need more help contact me: mhdubow@yahoo.com
