I am thinking of doing the exact same thing next summer.

How about some brick or concrete pavers? Shape it in a circle where the pool was, and with luck, there want be much digging involved. Put a couple of chairs there, maybe a fire pit, potted plants, maybe even a portable gaezabo. Something that will entice and interest prospective buyers.

Good luck to you. Would love to see it after you finish the project, on whatever you decide. May help me decide what to do when I remove my

      pool next year also.

You could simply put down sod, use your existing furniture for a conversation grouping and add a few planters for some colour.

Fill in the area with small grey stones (inexpensive) and then add a fire pit to the center. Surround it with nice plastic Adirondack chairs that should be on clearance this time of year.

The cheapest would be to break up and dispose that pad. Bring in some soil, bark and plantings and you got it covered.

first clean up the space, then a layer of sand tap down, then add pea gravel for the base, add a fire pit, chairs around the fire pit, you could also put some post around the perimeter of the circle and then string some lights for a pretty fire pit area, add some potted plants with colors , please post the finish area
