Have you ever looked at something that was about to be thrown away and envisioned something really cool? During yard work I started to toss this concrete chunk but when I saw it from another angle I realized it could become a really cool Fairy Door. I'm not very artistic but it was much easier then I thought it would be.

It didn't cost me anything as it was supplies I already had on hand but if purchasing new still would cost less then $5.
This was a nice triangular shaped chunk of concrete. I forgot to take the before showing the front but I think you get the idea from the back shown here.
The first thing I did was paint a black outline of the whole chunk of concrete then further outlined a door section and the bricks. Here you can see the bricks were outlined in various sizes and I dabbed 2 shades of gray paint into each brick to give them a mottled look.
Here you can see I painted the door brown. There was a natural "rocky" section that overlapped the door that I really liked.
Next I decided to use black permanent marker to create 4 board sections in the door, then drew wood grain lines into each board of the door. I also drew on black door hinges and used silver paint to dot on the screw heads onto the hinges and to create a doorknob.
Finally I painted a welcome mat on the bottom. After it was dry I took it outdoors and sprayed it with clear spray paint to protect it from the elements.
I considered putting it up against the rock foundation of my house but for now it is nestled in at the bottom of a tree waiting for fairies to move in icon

I think it turned out adorable and will never look at a chunk of old concrete the same way!
