Can I use Corn Starch mix to glue individual ceramic tiles on wood?

I am remodeling a table . Will

  • The cornstarch mix might hold the tiles in place while you work on your design. Are you planning on grouting when done? Otherwise the cornstarch might not hold long term.

    One issue for you is the two different materials that you are trying to join. They expand differently. I do not think corn starch has the guts to really stick your project together long term. I think you should use something like Goodyear Pliobond contact cement. It is easy to use, waterproof, flexible and relatively inexpensive

    i would mix up a little and try it on a scrap piece of wood, as similar to the table as possible. You don't really know until you try!
