Clean and Re Purpose Candle Holders

I love to recycle when I can, so all these used candle holders I had on hand were waiting to be cleaned and reused. Visit our blog for a step by step easy way to remove the wax and metal wick holder.
You will need a flat head screw driver, dish soap, water, your microwave and paper towels.
ETA: My tip is for store bought candle jars already filled with wax. After reading SEVERAL comments of popping it into the freezer, I tried it. I couldn't get the little metal tab out at the bottom. It took some very hot water to loosen the glue to remove it.
Scrape out the wax and the metal wick holder with your screw driver.
Heat the water/soap mixture in the microwave.
Wipe out the hot wax with a paper towel.
Wash up using more soap and warm water and your old sponge scrubber.
End result: Nice clean ready to use glass holders!

Would this work for a scented oil dish as well?

Tip: instead of scraping cups with a screwdriver, put the cups in the freezer for a little while (10-20 minutes) the old wax will pop right out

Kathy Johnson, Ft. Myers, FL I spray the inside of my glass candle holders with a spritz of vegetable oil. With a light twist of a screwdriver in the middle of the spent candles they come right out. I am a candle freak and have used this method for many years now.
