Handicap/wheel chair accessable landscape ideas?

I have a lot that is ideal for an entirely handicap accessible home but what about the yard? Can I design a yard that could be enjoyed by the "mobility challenged" as well?
The lot is a corner lot very near the hospital with 8' difference between the upper and lower edges of the property.

Absolutely! design the yard with flat patios and pathways (pavers, cement, asphalt) and make a series of 'rooms' using raised bed planters. if there is a slope, you may have to work to ensure it is gradual and access should incorporate ramps rather than stairs.
