Patio decor ideas to be kid friendly?

Hello Kelley; The best way to get children involved with anything is by having them help you.

If I were doing this project, I would ask the children for their ideas.

What are their likes, and their dislikes.

Also how large of an area is your patio?? Is it screened in?? Do you use it at all? What is it like currently???

Please give me more information, so that I can give you better ideas!!!

When I was a kid my mom painted a hopscotch and tic-tac-toe board on the concrete. Maybe some other games the kids like.

Make a rug with a canvas drop cloth and fabric paint. If your kids are old enough have them paint their own section, than put their hand prints and the date on it. Now you have a bright new rug that is also a keep sake and a happy memory.

Have them help you design and make wind chimes. They'll be unique.

Buy a plastic preformed kiddie swimming pool. Fill with sand for a kids sandbox. Also you can place old sheets and clothespins in a box and make forts with patio chairs for stabilizing. Put box away when kids are gone.

Get some good-size planter pots, fill with potting soil, and let the kids choose some annuals to plant. If you want, you could get plants this year, but let them pick out seeds next year. You can keep the same potting soil, just maybe add a little fresh next year. Easy seeds like marigolds, cosmos, zinnia, etc. Or a Patio tomato plant! My children loved doing this type of thing when they were little. I used to let them choose something new when summer was over, like chrysanthemums or winter kale.

Have some plants in pots or make a herb garden.Buy a large wine barrel and plant a veggie or herb garden.Good for the kids too.

how about a sand or water play table for a coffee table..fairy gardens are very popular and can be made from supplies around the house . Depending on the age of the children and size of patio a friend made a giant checker and Jenga game... fun for all ages
