I already posted, but feel the need to elaborate as I went to the doctor's today as I am concerned about my thyriod. Due the many things the thyroid gland influences in your body, if I were you, I'd go to the doctor's with your symptoms and ask for a blood test.

I have hypothyroid (under active thyroid) and it has messed up my life....gained over 100 lb. Go to the best endochronologist (sp?) you can find in your area and have a TSH done immediately. I take 200 mg. of Synthroid every morning. It is usually hereditary...my mom had it and her mother had it.

There are always natural things you can do to help with health problems, but the best thing to do is research and then take your findings to your doctor. Things you find to help you might interfere with any medications you might be taking. Or find a naturopathic doctor, at the very least. Just because something is natural doesn't mean there isn't limits to using it. Just like eating grapefruit can interfere with some medications, herbs and other supplements can do the same. And many herbs, vitamins and minerals can build up in your system and cause issues if you take too often, too much or too long. I've been studying herbal and natural medicine for 25 years, its not something to dabble in

Good Grief!!! You don't DIY Thyroid problems, Joe. Please see a medical professional. My thyroid problem turned out to be cancer that was caught quickly and taken care of. Herbs would not have taken care of that. Please go to a doctor.
