Birds nesting on ceiling fans :-(

my friend down the block had this same problem and her porch fan is white so we to nails painted the and hot glue them with points facing up and guess what...... No more birds nesting. Paint to the color your blades are , we use shorts ones that can't be seen.

Rub an orange or lemon on the blades, birds do not like the smell of citrus.

Fluorescent plastic tape strips scares birds away. Put a toy rubber snake up on the fan.

Just keep removing the nests as they're being built. The birds will get the idea pretty quick. If they've already nested, remove the nests as there are birds that return every year to the same nest.

Maybe try laying a plastic snake on the blades or wrapping one around the blades.

Help! Same problem

I tried rubber snake and no joke they made a nest right on top of the snake! that did not work. I tried taking them down almost daily and after a week they were still at it. Muddy dirty mess every time.

keeping the fan on low during the day is what i'm doing now. i will probably invest in some type of spikes on the blades.
